NLK (Nemo-Like Kinase) is an enzyme encoded by the NLK gene in humans. The enzyme is a member of the family of mitogen-activated protein kinases. Related studies have pointed out that NLK is an important p53 regulatory factor that responds to DNA damage. In addition, NLK interacts with p53 to enhance its stability and activity by eliminating MDM2-mediated ubiquitination and degradation of p53. Therefore, NLK plays an important role in tumorigenesis and may become a potential target for anticancer therapy in the future.
